Dumpster Rental Terms
These are the terms on every Stout Bros rental, written so you know your final bill before the dumpster arrives. Each dollar figure has a worked example.
- Our own trucks & drivers
- Scale ticket on every bill
- Boards under every drop
- Overage by the exact pound

How long is the rental, and what do extra days cost?
Every rental includes 7 days, counted from delivery. Each day past 7 costs $25. To extend, call (432) 271-7372 and tell us your new pickup day. Example: keep a dumpster for 10 days and you pay 3 extra days, or $75.
How much weight is included, and how is overage billed?
Included weight is 2 tons on the 10-yard, 2.5 tons on the 15-yard, 3 tons on the 20-yard, 4 tons on the 30-yard and 5 tons on the 40-yard. Weight over the limit costs $75 per ton, charged pro-rata by the exact pound on the landfill's digital scale ticket. We never round up to the next half ton or ton.
Example: a 15-yard includes 5,000 lb. The ticket shows 5,300 lb. You pay for 300 lb, which is 0.15 tons × $75 = $11.25. See how dumpster weight is billed.
What proof of weight do you get?
A digital copy of the certified landfill scale ticket is attached to your final invoice. The ticket shows the truck's loaded weight, its empty weight and the net weight of your debris. That net weight is the only number used to bill overage.
When is the final invoice sent?
The final invoice is emailed 3 to 5 business days after pickup, once the landfill processes our disposal log. It lists any overage, extra days and item fees as separate lines, with the scale ticket attached so you can check the weight yourself.
Which items are banned, and which cost extra?
Hazardous chemicals, wet paint and batteries are not allowed in any dumpster. Appliances with Freon, such as fridges, freezers and AC units, cost $50 each. Mattresses and automotive tires also cost $50 each, because the landfill processes them separately. The full list is on what you can put in a dumpster.
What is the fill line, and what happens if the dumpster is overfilled?
Debris must stay level with the top rim of the dumpster. Texas law requires haulers to keep loads contained, so we cannot drive an overloaded dumpster on the road. If it is overfilled, the $125 trip fee applies and the excess must come out before we haul it. Heavy debris has a lower fill line: halfway up the walls.
What is the trip fee?
The $125 trip fee, also called a dry run, applies when the driver arrives and cannot drop off or pick up the dumpster. Common causes are parked cars, low-hanging wires, locked gates and overfilled loads. Clearing the spot before the truck arrives avoids it.
How is a swap billed?
A swap means we haul the full dumpster away and drop an empty one in the same trip. Each swap counts as a new rental at the standard price for that size, with its own 7 days and included tons.
What do you do to protect the driveway?
Drivers place wooden boards under the dumpster's steel rails and rollers on concrete and asphalt driveways. You choose the spot. The driver confirms it is safe to place the dumpster there before setting it down.
Who handles a street permit?
Your city decides whether a dumpster can sit in the street or alley. Ask us when you book and we will tell you what we know about that city. Final approval comes from the city itself. A dumpster on your own driveway or lot does not use the public street. See the Odessa dumpster permit guide.
How do delivery and scheduling work?
Book by 3 PM for guaranteed next-day delivery. Same-day requests have a $50 rush fee and depend on a truck being free. Drops and pickups happen between 7 AM and 5 PM. The driver texts or calls 20–30 minutes before arriving, and you do not need to be home if the spot is clear.
Payment, deposit and cancellation
Payment method, any deposit and cancellation terms are confirmed on your quote before you book. Nothing is charged until you agree to the quote, and the quote names the size, the 7 days and the included tons in writing. Call (432) 271-7372 with any question about these terms.
How do you question a charge?
Call (432) 271-7372 with your invoice in hand. Every overage charge traces back to the attached scale ticket, so we can walk through the numbers line by line. Item fees and extra days are listed separately on the invoice.
